Player Registration in Wellington
General Rules around player registration
Just like in Ireland, players wishing to play Gaelic Football and Hurling in Wellington and those wishing to represent wellington in the Annual State games or the Annual tournaments throughout New Zealand have to be registered as a club player in the Wellington region.Local Kiwi Players, in both the Womens and Mens Codes do not require an Official Sanction or Overseas transfer form but will need a transfer form if moving between clubs in states.
Currently there is no player registration and transfer process for female players in Ireland so those traveling from Ireland to play in Wellington don't need to complete a sanction or overseas transfer forms. However they will need to fill out a transfer form if moving between states and clubs.
Annual State Games
Each State team selection in both Mens and womens codes can have a maximum of 10 players on an Official Sanction who are not residents of New Zealand. This means in effect that each squad can only consist of 10 players who are in New Zealand on a working Holiday Visa or similar.
Transfer Documents & Information
An official Sanction is required each male player coming from a club in Ireland to play in Wellington.
An Overseas Transfer Form is required for each sanctioned player above after completion of 1-Year playing in Wellington.
An Interstate Transfer form is required for Male & Female players transferring from one state in Australasia to another.
An Intrastate Transfer form is required for players transferring from one club in a state to another.
