Training takes place in the weeks before Socials seasons start so around January as well as later in the year around September. This is a time for new players to get to grips with the game as well as more seasoned players to shake the cobwebs off their boots before the season starts. Social 9’s has a few different rules that can be found here, but in most cases it is the same as regular rules except you can pick up the ball off the ground and the game is not full contact. Most of these training sessions take place in Prince of Wales park or Ian Galloway park. Times and dates for these can be found on the this page closer to the time.

Throughout the year other events such as Feis and Nationals take place where teams from all across New Zealand get together. In most cases teams are made up of participants of both the junior and senior socials teams sometimes as one division and sometimes as two, it depends on numbers available for all locations. During these events the socials teams are split to form men and ladies as their matches follow the official GAA rules. To get the latest on training times and location get in touch.
