Te Whiti Park was this years venue for the annual New Zealand’s Championships, teams from all across the country flew down to Wellington to face off. The day started early and optimistic as the teams started to grow. Each car wedging in unloaded a group of eager GAA players. On hand was the mix of umbrella and sunscreen for Wellingtons weather and after a quick change the games where afoot.

Each division Junior, Senior Men, Senior Ladies, Camogie and Hurling packed the two days, the final day saw a round Robin where for once only a few fuzzy heads saw the pitch. Many a player bright eyed for the cup, the Sunday saw better weather and better football as teams clashed.

Auckland  saw a heap of victories winning both the Men and Ladies Senior, Naomi Cristoir sealed victory in the Mens Junior and Wellington saw victory in both the Hurling and Camogie.

Celebrations in D4 Allen went till the wee hours as overflowing trophies where passed around.

A big thank you to Rob Georgiou Photography for all the great photographs from the weekend. More can be found on the Wellington GAA Facebook for both day 1 and day 2 of the tournament.
