This year 2012, marks the Auckland Irish Society Centenary and they along with Auckland GAA have invited us up to play their representative teams in a challenge match.
The Matches will include Men's Senior, Ladies Senior and Senior Hurling games to be played on Sunday 11th March.
The timetable is as follows
SUNDAY 11th MARCH 2012
12:00 Hurling: Auckland V Wellington (10 aside)
13:15 Ladies : Auckland V Wellington (15 aside)
14:30 Men's : Auckland V Wellington (15 aside)
Initially the games were fixed as a 7-aside tournament (as per other years) but Auckland would like to have a full 15 -aside setup.
Travelling Up?
When we travel around the country to play a challenge game, the players would book their own flights.
As the Games are on a Sunday (11th march) it is also possible to fly up on the Sunday and come back down in the evening. Please make sure to allow enough time to get to the airport after the matches and presentation.
What do we need from you?
If you'd like to travel and play with Wellington, we need to guage the interest from you. If you could fill in the attached form, we'll be able to tally up the numbers and see if we can send a team or teams to Auckland.
If you cold do this before the 31st Jan 2012, it would be very much appreciated.
